Bath Buddies

I think these pictures are pretty self-explanatory...except to say that it is harder than I realized to get a 6-year-old boy to keep what needs covering covered! He wanted to "bare" all to the camera
(thus, him sticking his tongue out at me)

Hat Moves

jonah was really getting down with his bad self when we put this hat on his head. he did a really cute little head bob and booty shake when Jonathan said "howdy partner!" he's got some smooth moves. but, you are just going to have to trust me on that one. he turned on me (as usual) when i got the camera going. so, you'll just have to settle for this:

*you will want to have your speakers on...there are a lot of cute little giggles!

Daddy's Day

We celebrated Father's Day with Jonathan's family. We joined his parents for the weekend. Our first stop:
The Lathrop Tractor Show.

These were some of the tractors Jonah got to sit upon. He LOVED it. (that is, until Mommy made him stop because he was getting too much sun)

you tractor buffs out there might recognize the cute little Ford in the top corner, or the International in the opposite corner. anybody know what the orange tractor is? that would be Alice Chalmers (which I've learned is the counterpart/rival to Mr. John Deere). I had never heard of Alice Chalmers until I married into the Atkins family. Apparently it  is kind of a big deal!

These are some of the more unusual "tractors" we saw:

of course you recognize the bicycle. next to that is a steam engine tractor. on the bottom (l to r) there is a PINK lawnmower, a "custom" tractor/cab, and the tractor pulling cute little kiddies through the fairground.

We wrapped up the weekend with a Sunday afternoon picnic in the park.
Please notice Jonah's cute little outfit.

I should also mention that I am excited to celebrate my own father very soon. Jonah and I have a little something cooked up for him...but that is all I will say about that, just in case he reads this!

Love you, Daddy!

Color Me Happy

Jonah has made a discovery. He loves to draw. (he gets all artistic ability from his daddy)
This is what I caught him doing yesterday:

He is armed with a pen and post-it. Lookout kitchen!

Jonathan and I talked about a possible solution...we had a test run while I was at work...and I made a little purchase yesterday afternoon:

He LOVES them. He loves being able to draw on anything. (he was drawing on the phone book at one point...and I didn't have to stop him.) Those little markers are wonderful...they only mark on the paper that comes with them.

If you'd like any custom art...just leave a comment or email me you address and we'll get something sent out right away!

Now for the bad news:
two of those brand new markers are missing. and the top of another has been bitten off (oops...guess that's why the package says 3 and up)

Bubble Heads

see that title? yep, it says "bubble" heads. not to be confused with "bobble" head...cause my child is also one of those!

see the "bobble" head
(this picture could be making an appearance in an upcoming blog which also includes dancing)

Ah, here we go, here are the BUBBLE heads...

Build With Me

Jonathan spent part of Memorial Day building some new table/shelving units for our garage. He had some wood from old K-Life projects (some other shelves that we took apart) and we had some metal shelving units to install in the garage. We've actually had the metal ones for over 2 years...just sitting in the package.

So, anyway, back to the project. Jonathan was really excited to put these suckers together, and you know what? They turned out GREAT. You know what else....Jonathan had a HELPER!! (bet you can't guess who helped!)
