Jonah had his first experience with some good old fashioned soul music. We recently went to a cookout at a friend's house. A few of the guests were showcasing/entertaining us with the church music of their Mississippi childhood. As they sang, they were snapping and clapping the background rhythm. Jonah wandered over next to one of the fellas and tried to snap too. It was the cutest little moment, watching him become comfortable with a stranger because of music.

hey amy!
ReplyDeletei just spent the last half hour getting caught up on your blog & i have several observations.
#1 last time i saw you at erica's, i thought you looked especially lovely but figured it was the 'pregnant glow' or something - now i realize it was your haircut! that style is VERY becoming on you! looking back through pre-haircut days and remembering what your hair normally looks like when i see you, i don't know why i didn't notice. all that to say, in my opinion, i think you've found your best style ever.
#2 jonah is absolutely preciously cute & adorable.
#3 maybe we could hang out sometime this summer? i don't know how much time you have before baby elizabeth makes her entrance into the world, but even if after, i would love to bring you some meals or help out if needed. the life of a teacher in summer time is pretty low key.
#4 are you no longer nannying for the sparks after the baby is born?
#5 this long comment would probably be more conducive to an e-mail...
#6 in reference to your comment on my blog about juicing, i like your input - that was a helpful way to think of the 'waste' of juicing. i'm missing it SOOOooo much while being on this 2 1/2 week trip! i can't wait to get back to the juicer!
#7 i also liked talking to you at erica's - further reinforcing the notion that we should hang out :-)
